Hi Everyone,
I recently visited my parents in the San Francisco Bay Area and my mom’s garden was in full bloom. I spent a lot of time in her garden taking pictures of the flowers. Today, I am sharing a card inspired by the visit using Spellbinder’s Be Bold Bloom die set. I started with die-cutting the flowers, the stems, flower buds and leaves. I chose a monochromatic blue / turquoise color theme. I used evergreen card stock for the stems, blue card stock for some of the flowers. For some of the buds, branches, flowers and leaves I used background panels I made awhile back using Lindy’s Gang Magical Powder. The shimmer and splatters create an added interest to the die cuts and the overall design. Meanwhile, I used Pinkfresh Studio’s nested diamond die to cut an aperture on a heavy weight card panel. Separately, I taped two of the dies together to cut a diamond shape frame from some blue mirror card stock. Before inlaying the frame into opening, for added texture on the panel, I dried emboss the panel with Altenew’s Checkered Diamonds embossing folder; making sure to line up the diamond outline frame with the embossing folder’s diamond designs with the panel’s opening. For dimension, I applied some foam tape to the back of the panel before arranging the die cuts.
On a heavy weight top folding card base, I used Taylor Expression’s Diamonds Piercing cover plate die to add some texture to the front part of the note card. For sentiment, I used a “Congrats” stamp from my stash which I stamped with Salvage Patina and Salty Ocean distress oxide inks and embossed with Simon Says Stamp clear embossing powder. I finished the card with some Iridescent Bubbles from Studio Katia. I also made a matching envelope with left over die cuts on the front.
To complete the look, I embossed the envelope flab with the same Altenew Checkered Diamonds embossing folder used on the card panel.
I hope you enjoy the card and matching envelope! Until next time, happy crafting!
Lillian
