Hi,
Are you ready for some holiday cards? The Spellbinders Club Kits have been sitting on my craft desk for some time. I am sharing a card made with both the October large and small die club sets. I can’t pass up Spellbinders’ stich dies and this month’s ornament is perfect to embroider. For this project, I didn’t create the display that came with the large die club kit.
Steps:
- I die cut on heavy weight the poinsettia and leaves dies from both the large and small die club kits.
- I ink blended the poinsettia with shades of coral and orange inks and the leaves with aqua inks. I also added highlights and shadings with alcohol markers. For the pine needle sprigs, I die cut with dark green backgrounds left over from another project.
- With heavy weight card stock, I die cut the ornament and stitched with gold metallic thread. I adhered another ornament die cut in the back.
- To enhance the aqua holy leaves, I cut a 2.75 x 3.75” rectangle aqua cardstock from the Callista Rectangle Shadowbox Frame die set.
- For added interest, I dry embossed the front of the note card using Spellbinder’s Intertwined Lattice embossing folder.
- To complete the card, I heat embossed “Warm Holiday Wishes” with gilded gold embossing powder and adhered some gold embellishments.
I hope you like the card. I will be back to share more projects soon. See you next time!
Lillian
